Getting started

From sign-up to your first ad on screen

Six steps, one app, and the TV you already own. You do not need a media player, an HDMI stick, or any extra signage hardware - just a Google TV or Android TV, a phone, and a few minutes.

Before you begin

What you need

Everything on this list is either free or something most venues already have.

  • A Google account, used to create your LenvoAds account
  • A TV running Google TV or Android TV, connected to the internet
  • A phone with the LenvoAds mobile app installed
  • Your content: images, videos, or just text
Step by step

Set up LenvoAds in six steps

Follow these in order. Steps 1 to 3 get a screen live; steps 4 to 6 put your content on it.

  1. 01

    Create your account

Go to advertiser registration and choose Register with Google. Your LenvoAds account is created from your Google account in a single step - there is no separate password to set up or email to verify.

Once you are in, you will land on your dashboard. It will be empty for now: no channels, no ads, no impressions. That is expected.

  2. 02

Install LenvoAds Display on your TV

There are two ways to do this. Pick whichever suits the screen.

    Option A - Google Play

On the TV, open Google Play, search for LenvoAds Display, and install it. This is the simplest route and the app updates itself automatically. It does require a Google account to be signed in on the TV.

Option B - install the APK directly

If you would rather not sign a Google account into the TV - which is usually the case for a screen in a shop, gym or lobby that staff and customers can reach - download the APK and install it directly instead. No account is needed on the TV at all.

    1. On the TV, allow installation from unknown sources. This is normally under Settings, then Apps or Security.
    2. Download the APK using a file manager or downloader app on the TV, or copy it across on a USB drive.
    3. Open the file and confirm the install.

    Download LenvoAds Display APK

Version 1 · 79 MB · Android TV and Google TV · supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a and x86_64. Installing this way means the app will not update itself - to move to a newer version, download and install it again.

Either way, this is the only software you install. The app runs directly on the TV, so there is nothing to plug in and nothing else to buy.

  3. 03

Scan the QR code to pair the screen

When the app opens for the first time, the TV shows a Register New Device screen with a QR code. Scan it with the LenvoAds mobile app on your phone.

Scanning links that specific TV to your account and registers it as a channel. The TV will begin showing content as soon as you have ads assigned to it - until then it will simply wait.

  4. 04

    Name and configure the channel

Back in your account, open My Channels and select the screen you just paired. Give it a Channel Name you will recognise later - the room or branch it sits in works well once you are running more than one.

Set the Channel Industry to match the venue, and leave Is Active switched on. The device serial number, app version, and last-connected time fill in automatically, and are useful for checking that a screen is still online.

  5. 05

    Add your advertisements

Open My Ads and create one. Choose the Advertisement Type - image, video, or plain text - then give it a friendly name and a title, upload your file, and set the Duration in Seconds that it should stay on screen. Ten seconds is the default and works well for most content.

You can create as many ads as you like. Nothing appears on a screen until you attach it to one, which happens in the next step.

  6. 06

    Build a playlist

A playlist is what connects the two halves together: it groups the channels you want to reach and the advertisements you want them to run.

Open My Playlists, create one, link your channels to it, and link the ads that should play. This is what makes multiple screens practical - update the playlist once and every screen attached to it changes, whether that is two TVs or two hundred.

After setup

Check that it is working

Your dashboard is where you confirm the screens are live and the content is playing.

Impressions

Plays over the last 30 days, broken down by day, with today and yesterday called out separately.

Total channels

How many screens are registered, and how many are currently active versus offline.

Active ads

Your live creative, split by type so you can see what is actually in rotation.

Last connected

On each channel record - the quickest way to spot a screen that has dropped off the network.

Common questions

If something is not working

The TV shows nothing after pairing

The screen is paired but has no content assigned yet. Check that you have at least one active advertisement and that a playlist links it to this channel.

The QR code will not scan

Use the LenvoAds mobile app rather than your phone camera, and make sure the TV is connected to the internet - the code is generated per device and expires.

Do I need extra hardware?

No. If your TV runs Google TV or Android TV, the app is all you need. No media player, no HDMI stick, no signage box.

Can I run several screens?

Yes. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on each TV, then group them into a playlist so one update reaches all of them at once.

Can I remove the LenvoAds logo?

The Hide LenvoAds Logo option on each channel requires an active subscription. Everything else described on this page is available without one.

How long can each ad stay up?

You set the duration per advertisement in seconds. Ten is the default; longer suits detailed content, shorter suits a rotating loop.
